Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the complete recruitment, management, and development of the assigned team, including monitoring staffing levels, workload distribution, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure the team's compliance with service standards through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis.
• Generate and review various monthly reports to confirm that all new business inquiries are addressed promptly, including post-binding activities and team members' tasks.
• Conduct periodic quality audits as necessary.
• Provide technical guidance in managing the service of new clients, encompassing sales, account development, and problem resolution, while adhering to client objectives and industry best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the proprietary platform and solutions offered by the organization.
• Contribute insights and ideas during strategic planning meetings.
• Occasionally visit prospective clients as required.
• Collaborate closely with sales associates to assess the commercial lines insurance needs of prospects.
• Prepare submissions to carriers and secure quotes, responding to underwriters' inquiries as needed.
• Negotiate terms with carriers on behalf of prospects.
• Complete the marketing process and create appropriate proposal presentations.
• Finalize coverage binding for clients and oversee the client onboarding process.
• Enhance knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of the organization.
• Foster relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
• Serve as a technical authority on market trends, pricing strategies, and underwriting policies.
• Maintain high accuracy in agency management and documentation systems.
• Stay updated with industry developments, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Qualifications:
• Over 10 years of experience in a commercial property and casualty insurance agency, with a thorough understanding of all relevant coverages, underwriting, and rating principles.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Previous managerial experience is advantageous, with a proven ability to lead effectively.
• Must possess a state Property and Casualty insurance license.
• Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, and CPCU are preferred.
• Capability to manage complex tasks involving various concrete and abstract variables.
• Proficient in internet-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Sagitta/ImageRight is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
