Team Lead for Commercial Lines New Business Marketing

Overview: This role involves overseeing the operational functions of the New Business Regional Marketing Specialist team. The primary focus is to actively promote new client accounts to insurance carriers while supporting commercial lines sales representatives. Responsibilities include providing marketing analytics, negotiating coverage options, and facilitating the client onboarding process. **This position allows for flexible work arrangements, including a hybrid schedule, but candidates must reside within the specified region.**

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the complete recruitment, management, and development of the assigned team, which includes overseeing staffing levels, workload distribution, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure the team's compliance with service standards through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) assessments.
• Generate and review various monthly reports to confirm that all new business inquiries are addressed promptly, including post-binding activities and team member workloads.
• Conduct quality audits periodically as needed.
• Provide technical guidance in the service coordination for new clients, aligning with client objectives and USI best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert on USI's proprietary systems and solutions.
• Contribute insights and strategies during team meetings.
• Occasionally visit potential clients as required.
• Collaborate closely with sales associates to assess the commercial lines insurance needs of prospects.
• Prepare submissions for carriers and secure quotes while responding to underwriters' inquiries.
• Negotiate terms with carriers on behalf of clients.
• Complete the marketing process and prepare comprehensive proposal presentations.
• Bind coverage for clients and manage the onboarding process.
• Enhance knowledge of insurance markets relevant to USI.
• Build relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
• Serve as a technical authority on market trends, pricing strategies, and underwriting policies.
• Maintain high accuracy in agency management and documentation systems.
• Stay updated on industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology.

Qualifications:
• Over 10 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance, with a thorough understanding of all related coverages, underwriting, and rating principles.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Previous managerial experience is advantageous, with a proven ability to lead effectively.
• Must possess a state Property & Casualty insurance license.
• Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, and CPCU are preferred.
• Capability to manage complex tasks involving various concrete and abstract variables.
• Proficient in internet-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Sagitta/ImageRight is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
