Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Parts Counter Associate to join our team. As a key member of our parts department, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers, assisting with inventory management, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Inform customers of companion part requirements and ensure they are exposed to our full product line
- Answer incoming phone calls and counter inquiries, providing price quotes and other information as needed
- Review body shop estimates to ensure parts are ordered correctly and pricing is in line with the estimate
- Pull and fill orders from stock
- Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
- Notify all necessary parties when special ordered parts have been received
- Pull orders and ensure all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers
- Follow department policy and instructions on special ordering parts and aging
- Follow up on back-ordered parts and replenish assigned inventory daily
- Maintain a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork
- Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders
- Verify will-call and back-order files weekly and return to vendors or stock items not picked up or required
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer and phone skills (Internet, MS Outlook)
- Proficient in CDK (a plus)
- Degree in automotive technology or military equivalent experience
- Bilingual (a plus)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment screen (background and drug test)
