Job Summary
The City of Hampton, VA is seeking a skilled Inmate Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our correctional services department, you will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates into society.

About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary of $42,000 annually. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, individual and group counseling sessions, and developing treatment or rehabilitation plans for inmates. You will work closely with the Programs Manager and other staff members to ensure the effective implementation of our reentry programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to determine inmate security risks and programmatic needs
  • Prepare case history reports and recommend program assignments
  • Review work and disciplinary records of assigned inmates
  • Deliver programs to inmates, including individual and group counseling sessions
  • Provide intervention for at-risk and high-risk inmates

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as mental health, adult counseling, or criminal justice. You will also require 1-3 years of experience working in a correctional facility, preferably in a position involving direct contact with inmates. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
