Position Overview: The Medicaid Eligibility Coordinator plays a crucial role in determining eligibility for Health First Colorado (formerly Medicaid), including Long Term Care and CHP+. This position involves collaboration with community partners and may require on-site presence at various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess applications to evaluate income, resources, household composition, and employment status for medical assistance eligibility.
  • Review applications for completeness and accuracy, requesting additional information as necessary.
  • Communicate eligibility requirements and regulations to applicants, including their rights and responsibilities.
  • Utilize a statewide computer system for accurate data entry and case processing.
  • Maintain comprehensive client records within the Colorado Benefit Management System (CBMS) and electronic document management systems.
  • Generate monthly reports to identify discrepancies affecting participant eligibility.
  • Collaborate with community partner staff to share pertinent information and support client outcomes.
  • Participate in dispute resolution processes and prepare for state-level hearings when required.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical public assistance programs and the Colorado Benefit Management System (CBMS).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze information and make informed eligibility decisions.
  • Customer service skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships.
  • Experience in a role determining Medicaid eligibility is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
