Forensic Scientist 2 Job Description

The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist 2 to join our team. As a Forensic Scientist 2, you will be responsible for conducting forensic analyses and providing expert testimony in court.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct forensic analyses of physical evidence, including DNA, fingerprints, and other materials.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in forensic science techniques and technologies.
  • Provide expert testimony in court and assist in the preparation of reports and other documents.
  • Collaborate with other forensic scientists and law enforcement agencies to share knowledge and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in forensic science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in forensic science, preferably in a crime laboratory setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
