We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Customer Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Grand River Medical Group's call center.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include managing appointment scheduling, confirming patient details, and handling incoming communications from patients and healthcare providers.
The ideal candidate will excel in delivering exceptional customer service while fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

As a Healthcare Customer Support Specialist, you will utilize office technology such as computers, telephones, and fax machines. You will also gain proficiency in our patient scheduling software and electronic health records system.
This is a full-time opportunity, operating Monday through Friday, with no evening or weekend shifts required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming inquiries from patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare facilities. Our call center typically handles 800-1,000 calls daily.
- Direct calls appropriately and provide clear communication to clinical staff regarding patient needs and requests.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, including cancellations and referrals.
- Update and verify patient information to ensure accurate billing and data entry.
- Ensure all appointments are correctly logged in the system and follow established protocols.

Qualifications:
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service with each interaction.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Friendly, empathetic, and responsible.

- High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of three months to one year of relevant experience or training is preferred.

- Proficient in using office equipment, including computers, telephones, and fax machines.
- Familiarity with patient scheduling software and electronic health records is advantageous.
