Grand River Medical Group is in search of a dedicated Patient Service Representative to manage clerical responsibilities essential for the smooth operation of our practice.
This role involves welcoming patients for their appointments, organizing schedules, confirming patient details and insurance information, and handling incoming calls.
The ideal candidate will excel in delivering exceptional customer service while fostering a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Reliability and adaptability in scheduling are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival for their appointments.
- Conduct interviews with patients to complete necessary insurance and privacy documentation.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, manage cancellations, and coordinate physician referrals.
- Respond to phone inquiries regarding insurance and payments, directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Review and update patient information to ensure accurate billing and enter demographic data into the system. Verify insurance status and details.
- Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations, ensuring all procedures are accurately logged in the system. Perform schedule maintenance as required.
- Execute clerical tasks vital for the daily operations of the practice.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service with each interaction.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Friendly, empathetic, and responsible demeanor.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- A minimum of three months to one year of relevant experience or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers, telephones, fax machines, and copiers.
- Familiarity with patient scheduling systems and electronic medical records.
