Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Record and Health Information Specialist to join our team at CN Guidance and Counseling Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review, management, and maintenance of patient health information, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health information
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and NYS Privacy laws
- Assist with monitoring and facilitating the Records Retention Policy
- Audit electronic systems and provide reports for valid consents/releases of information
- Assist with updating health information and privacy policies and procedures
- Coordinate review and update of forms
- Attend meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in the health care field
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems
- Knowledge and experience with HIPAA compliance
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel skills
