Family Support Coordinator
who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of families.
Role & Responsibilities:
The Family Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in welcoming new families to the Center and providing essential assistance to those in need of support with applications and referral processes.
This position will contribute to the development and execution of family support initiatives and facilitate community-centered programming and events.Key Duties:
1. Assist in the creation and execution of family support initiatives.
2. Provide orientation for new families at the Center.
3. Offer direct support to families needing help with applications or referral consents.
4. Connect families with relevant programs and community resources.
5. Organize and lead Center-focused programming and events.
6. Collaborate with partner organizations for program registration and follow-up.
7. Support the efforts of all Center staff.
8. Maintain accurate documentation of services, records, and reports, and manage supplies and data entry.
9. Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all families.
10. Foster positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, families, partners, and the community.
11. Contribute to achieving Center and collaborative goals.
12. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Center.
13. Conduct targeted outreach as necessary.
14. Perform daily operational tasks.
15. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Information:
Must exhibit sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs of the service population.
Understand the significance of the Protective Factors framework.
Embrace Family Support Principles.
Be cross-trained to execute daily operational tasks.
Engage in Center events and support contractual objectives.
Receive training in the Center's data management system and uphold member confidentiality.
Bilingual capabilities may be required for reviewing and translating communications.
Participate in mandatory training and perform other assigned duties.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess a high level of energy, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to irregular hours.
Work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in family services is required.
Skills:
The Coordinator should be knowledgeable about community resources to effectively implement strength-based family programming and facilitate community-centered events.
Accountability:
Reports to the Center Manager.
Collaborates effectively with co-workers and administrators.
Ensures timely and accurate submission of required documents and reports.
Acts as a liaison with community service providers.
Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of all client information.
