Salary: $170k - $210k

Company Overview: A prominent EdTech organization, recognized for its flagship K-12 learning platform, which engages over 20 million daily active users, is in search of a Staff Software Engineer. This role is pivotal as the foremost technical contributor within the company.

Role Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will:

  • Lead a team of full stack engineers.
  • Act as the chief architect for new features outlined in the product roadmap.
  • Establish best practices and coding standards.
  • Enhance development workflows to facilitate onboarding of new team members.
  • Serve as a technical role model and mentor through one-on-one sessions and code reviews.

This position does not require prior experience in team management from a human resources perspective.

Technical Stack: The technology stack comprises TypeScript, React, Python, Django, Postgres, and AWS. The ideal candidates will be full stack engineers with a stronger emphasis on backend development, although those with balanced full stack skills will also be considered.

Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in developing modern web applications.
  • Strong foundation in full stack development.
  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Expertise in design architecture and implementation.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with Django or Flask.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
