About the Team:


The Powder Bed Fusion team at Relativity Space is responsible for developing, assessing, and refining the additive manufacturing processes for next-generation liquid propulsion systems.

This elite team establishes the machinery, materials, and methodologies necessary for rapid iteration and delivery of Aeon-R hardware.

The team plays a vital role in creating and showcasing groundbreaking technologies, designs, and strategies for Terran-R.

About the Role:
As a Process Engineer, you will take charge of the transition of new products and technologies, including 3D printers and post-processing equipment to sustaining engineering.

Your Responsibilities:
Support the setup, commissioning, and operation of additive manufacturing machinery.

Conduct process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Create and uphold standard operating procedures, work instructions, checklists, and safety protocols for additive manufacturing, including 3D printers.

Be accountable for establishing process flows to achieve production rates and quality objectives.

Execute powder bed fusion 3D printing tasks in a timely manner to support daily production.

Promptly communicate obstacles to team leaders and technicians to ensure appropriate responses, containment, and recovery.

Address non-conformances and perform root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Monitor additive machine utilization and strive to reduce both planned and unplanned downtime.

Conduct manufacturing ROI and cost trade analyses to optimize machine capital and process enhancements.

Develop and integrate tooling and statistical process control into production workflows to further enhance reliability while minimizing costs and lead times.

About You:
BS Degree in Engineering (or a relevant technical field).

2+ years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with powder bed fusion metal printing.

Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment.

Knowledge of ISO AS9100/ISO9000, medical device manufacturing environments, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:
Six-Sigma Greenbelt, SPC, & DOE.

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S or Six Sigma.
