The Pennant Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to participate in our CEO-In-Training (CIT) program. This comprehensive training program is designed to prepare proven leaders for an Executive Director position, overseeing and leading a Pennant-affiliated company. The CIT program is a full-time, paid executive training program that runs approximately 6-12 weeks, depending on level of experience and industry knowledge.

Program Overview

The CIT program is a hands-on training experience that provides participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as an Executive Director. Participants will work closely with experienced Executive Directors and other leaders to gain a thorough understanding of our culture, operating models, systems, and what it takes to be a successful leader and CEO of a Pennant-affiliated company. The program includes:

  • Practical on-the-job training in an operational environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Executive Director/CEO
  • Mentorship by several proven leaders to gain a thorough understanding of our culture, operating models, systems, and what it takes to be a successful leader and CEO
  • Hands-on training in all roles within an operation, including shadowing clinicians to learn our clinical product and administrative staff to learn the business model
  • Independent study of regulations and specific curriculum focused on becoming an exceptional operator
  • Opportunities to take on projects and real responsibilities at their operation of training and identify opportunities and solutions as they master the fundamentals of our business

Duties and Responsibilities

As a CIT, you will be responsible for:

  • Committing to providing Life-Changing Service
  • Using our Competency Checklist to assess and learn all skills needed to successfully lead a Pennant-affiliated company
  • Meeting with their preceptor (Executive Director/CEO) weekly to review Competency Checklist progress and feedback
  • Becoming acquainted with each member of the leadership team and communicating needs and opportunities regularly
  • Observing each position within the company to gain an understanding of each person's role, responsibilities, and best practices
  • Attending and engaging in CIT Trainings, including Clinical, Business Development, Culture, and Financial Bootcamps, weekly new leader phone calls, and cluster calls
  • Demonstrating an ability to give and receive feedback, acting within Pennant Group core values
  • Demonstrating an ability to act and lead within Pennant Group core values CAPLICO
  • Demonstrating an ability to perform competent financial controls, including but not limited to P&L Management, Cost Management, Accounts Receivable, etc.
  • Demonstrating an ability to perform competent clinical controls, including but not limited to Quality and star rating, CAHPS, workflow, QAPI, etc.
  • Demonstrating an ability to perform representation in the community and earn business
  • Gaining understanding of EHR systems and reports to include HCHB, SHP, Knowledgelink, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the CIT program, you must have:

  • 3-5 years of proven leadership experience demonstrating positive results
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (MBA/MHA is a plus)
  • Ability to pass state required licensing exams (Requirements vary by state)
