POSITION SUMMARY

Accountable for the upkeep, repair, and servicing of various small engine machinery, heavy-duty equipment, and vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of both small and large engine equipment.
  • Conducts welding operations as required.
  • Adjusts, overhauls, repairs, and reassembles engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, brakes, drive shafts, axles, and other mechanical assemblies.
  • Interprets manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications to execute repair and maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Responds to emergency service calls as necessary and coordinates towing services when needed.
  • Tests, diagnoses, and repairs large machinery, including diesel vehicles, tractors, dump trucks, excavators, and other heavy construction apparatus.
  • Ensures all repairs meet high standards of safety and quality.
  • Schedules and performs regular preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all company machinery.
  • Monitors equipment to ensure compliance with established operational and safety standards.
  • Completes maintenance reports, work orders, and any other required documentation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, ensuring proper care of all company equipment.
  • Encourages continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED; or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in repair and maintenance.
  • Preferred experience in maintenance welding.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to efficiently disassemble and reassemble various types of equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility in diagnosing operational issues.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Extended work hours may be required during peak periods.
  • Involves substantial physical activity and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Consistent exposure to loud noise and potential hazards such as air pollution, allergens, dust, and moving mechanical parts.
