Field Service Operations Manager

As a key member of our team at Wesco, you will play a vital role in leading and directing the day-to-day operational objectives of our service technicians.

You will be responsible for managing projects, coordinating team activities, identifying necessary resources, and developing schedules to ensure timely project completion in accordance with customer contracts.

This field-based position requires strong skills in heavy equipment operation, as well as the ability to work effectively in a mobile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage project development from start to finish in accordance with customer contracts.
  • Provide daily direction to field service supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, directing customer interaction and setting project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, and requirements documentation.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety and ensure all specifications are met.
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times, following appropriate safety regulations and completing monthly safety reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business required.
  • Forklift certification required, OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience (forklift certified) and 3 years of supervision experience in a construction environment required, with 5 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and electrical, construction, or mechanical products required.
  • Strong time management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, operate hand and power tools and equipment, and be geographically mobile and willing to relocate based on customer projects required.

  • Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
