Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project management partnership to Meijer Marketing and key business partners/agencies.
  • Plan, schedule, and control all key marketing (creative) business projects.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers and Director, Marketing Operations to improve work processes and gain team efficiency.
  • Lead in the development of key business relationships and integrate across departments to ensure successful implementation and support of projects.
  • Set up and track specific project plan schedules and budgets. Adjust project plans and resolve issues as necessary.
  • Lead and facilitate Marketing Train events, like PI Planning, and weekly Agile Success Team meetings.
  • Plan and lead the successful onboarding of new vendor partners (i.e., Agency of Record).
  • Lead the creation of AOR contract and annual scope of work in alignment with business objectives. Manage actual work against the AOR SOW and budget throughout a given year.
  • Organize and design team structures and operational models for seamless, successful execution.
  • Identify and develop business reports/scorecards for projects and team member performance. Review and interpret results of reports and data and analyze data integrity and effectiveness of reports.
  • Manage and set direction for Marketing workforce management and development processes in partnership with Marketing leadership.
  • Evaluate and implement software tools for project management, budget, and procurement, and/or ITS workforce management and development; coordinate enhancements.
  • Utilize knowledge of industry best practices for project management and recommend/implement necessary changes.
  • Provide forecast analysis and planning for Marketing processes (and corresponding workforce needs), establish and execute forecast strategies and goals.
  • Lead the strategic development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Marketing Training Curriculum; conduct project management and Agile-specific training.
  • Serve as Marketing subject matter expert for the annual Summer Intern Program, providing Marketing guidance and exposure to a team of interns throughout their internship experience.
  • Develop and provide presentations for Marketing, Business Leaders, Executive Leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline is required.
  • PMP certification, Lean, and/or Scaled Agile certification strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management.
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Has extensive experience managing simultaneous projects, programs, and/or portfolios.
  • Has extensive experience with managing cross-functional projects, programs, and/or portfolios.
  • Has extensive experience with outsourced projects, programs, and/or portfolios (vendors, consultants, and/or contractors).
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and inspire teams to follow in the face of change and innovation.
  • Possesses superior project management skills for managing project scope, time, cost, quality, team member resources, communication, risk, and procurement.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of Corporate financial and fiscal year budgeting processes.
  • Possesses full knowledge of Meijer procurement business practices.
  • Possesses strong planning and tracking/controlling skills.
  • Possesses excellent follow-through, administrative, and organizational skills and is able to multi-task.
  • Possesses strong interpretation skills for the review of reports and data from all areas of the company.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving, negotiating, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Possesses strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Possesses strong leadership, team building, coaching, mentoring, and consulting skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean-Agile principles.
  • Possesses excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and principles to non-technical people.
  • Possesses ability to define methods to measure processes and standards.
