About the Role:
James Madison University is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Manager to join its Facilities Management team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all HVAC requirements campus-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all aspects of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Evaluate and provide information to the Energy and Utilities manager on equipment replacement or rebuild.
- Develop and implement schedules for summer maintenance and assist in planning projects to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor work actions with employees and advise as needed.
- Read and interpret specifications developed by engineering.
- Monitor project progressions to maintain integrity and necessary coordination for timely completions.
- Manage maintenance records on equipment and maintain histories.
- Communicate important information regularly and consistently.
- Maintain a method of refrigerant tracking to meet EPA standards.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of all types of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
- Considerable knowledge of troubleshooting HVAC systems both mechanically and electrically.
- Knowledge of pump systems.
- Considerable knowledge of setting chillers up to run as efficiently as possible and meet DEQ/EPA standards.
- Ability to use various instruments in troubleshooting equipment mechanically, electrically, and from an efficiency perspective.
- Ability to effectively communicate, give guidance, and instruction to staff.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience with refrigerant compliance management software.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
