The Operations Manager oversees all facility operations at American Builders Supply. Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory, and associated metrics including Total Inventory Record (TIR), cost of quality, and Labor margins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee overall operations, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Ensure facility safety, track performance, and identify root causes to prevent employee injuries.
  • Coordinate shipping and delivery departments to meet customer needs at the lowest cost possible.
  • Work with order entry to schedule and maximize schedule adherence.
  • Motivate employees, maintain a productive workforce, and train successor management.
  • Recommend capital improvements based on forecasted demand, equipment efficiency, and obsolete equipment.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and obtain feedback.
  • Ensure budget accountability and reporting to meet financial goals.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in the building materials industry.
  • Lumberyard background with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Four years of related managerial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Comfort working in a diverse environment.
