This role is pivotal in embodying our brand promise through outstanding asset management. Acting as a guest advocate and a key advisor to the General Manager, this position oversees various operations, including maintenance engineering, facilities upkeep, grounds management, housekeeping collaboration, fleet management, warehouse operations, and laundry services. Success in this role is primarily gauged by guest feedback regarding the quality of facilities and the safe operation of assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Performance Development Plans (PDPs), provide evaluations, and actively coach maintenance technicians and grounds staff, fostering a culture of mentorship and continuous improvement.
  • Assess and recommend staffing adjustments, performance targets, and resource allocation to achieve desired outcomes. Manage engagement plans, talent reviews, and succession planning.
  • Exemplify brand-centered leadership by prioritizing the brand in all business decisions. Regularly solicit and utilize guest feedback to enhance relationships and drive improvements in guest satisfaction. Ensure all guest needs and requests are met, addressing and following up on any issues.
  • Promote a brand-centric culture where team members understand their roles and are motivated to deliver exceptional guest experiences and uphold brand standards. Model brand behaviors consistently across all business aspects while balancing budgetary goals with team and brand success.
  • Oversee the quality delivery of preventative maintenance and repair programs, including non-permitted electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs. Manage contracts with external vendors for specialized services.
  • Implement brand initiatives and maintenance strategies, manage maintenance budgets, and develop focused operational practices that enhance owner value and guest satisfaction.
  • Formulate departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet financial objectives.
  • Ensure the department operates within established budgetary constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • A college degree or trade training in engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years in hospitality maintenance engineering management.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading frontline staff.
  • Facilities Certifications such as CEOE, IFMA, or FMA are advantageous.
  • Proficient understanding of maintenance engineering management and building systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, prevent, and resolve complex issues while consistently delivering high-quality results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • May require specific state certifications or licenses.
