About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) leader to join our team in Orlando, Florida. As a key member of our HSE team, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-specific HSE training programs and assist with district-specific training.
  • Implement district HSE communication strategies and build processes for hazard identification.
  • Lead project HSE inspections and monitor the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
  • Work with project teams to provide recommendations for corrective actions of systemic issues.
  • Develop and evaluate the efficiency of project emergency response plans, site-specific security requirements, and environmental plans.
  • Monitor and audit trade partner HSE performance.
  • Participate in on-site investigative processes and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and mentor HSE Coordinators and other employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Holds safety designation.
  • 7 years' experience in a health and safety role in a related industry. 2 years' experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
