Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Lead

Vertex Aerospace LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental health and safety standards and programs across the program, ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and Local regulatory and program-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support environmental health and safety standards and programs across the program.
  • Develop various reporting systems and provide safety analysis as required.
  • Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.
  • Develop technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.
  • Responsible for environmental safety risk management.
  • Conduct investigations and root cause analysis and may make resolution recommendations.
  • Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed related to ESH.
  • Monitor environmental compliance issues and provide assistance with workplace safety matters.
  • Perform job hazard assessments by participating in processes and procedures and researching industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure mandatory reporting of program accidents and incidents.
  • Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate personnel obtain and maintain requisite OSHA and other training appropriate to job responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and implementing environmental health and safety standards and programs.
  • Experience with compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience with technical document development, including EHS procedures, programs, and guidance documents.
  • Experience with environmental safety risk management.
  • Experience conducting investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Experience implementing corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities.
  • Experience monitoring environmental compliance issues and providing assistance with workplace safety matters.
  • Experience performing job hazard assessments.
  • Experience ensuring mandatory reporting of program accidents and incidents.
  • Experience informing personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders.
  • Experience ensuring appropriate personnel obtain and maintain requisite OSHA and other training.

Physical Requirements:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

The worker is primarily in an office environment. Programs will require travel to and working in outside environments at government locations from hot and dry to cold and humid. PPE required to mitigate environmental and safety hazards.
