Help Desk Specialist

Job Summary
The Help Desk Specialist role at The Lexington School is the first point of contact for all IT questions, including application and hardware support. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the technical needs of the school community, including creating and maintaining issue logs, prioritizing and communicating resolutions to users.
- Provide step-by-step end-user training as needed for hardware and software.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Responsible for tech setups for meetings and special events.
- Add and maintain users on the network and cloud-based systems, ensuring security and adherence to standards.
- Assist with tracking hardware assets.
- Stay current on trends and new developments in educational technologies, software, hardware, networks, and telecommunications.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of IT/Help Desk experience supporting multiple users in Mac and Windows environments.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office 365, with Microsoft Certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies.
- Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects efficiently and effectively.
- The ability to represent the school in a positive manner that reflects the school's mission, vision, and values.
- Ongoing professional development to remain knowledgeable of relevant technology.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional school environment, requiring frequent sitting, standing, walking, and physical activity.
- The ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- The ability to move around campus to attend meetings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Availability to participate in an on-call rotation, requiring prompt response times and accessibility using a mobile device or laptop.
- Emergency staff designations, such as leading or directing students during emergency drills and real events, may be required.
