Position Overview

This role is situated within our dynamic engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the software engineering team in a collaborative environment focused on the creation of firmware and embedded applications.
  • Architect and execute software solutions for embedded devices and systems, from initial requirements through to production.
  • Develop and assess design specifications, source code, and other essential technical documentation.
  • Provide strategic guidance in software architecture and design discussions.
  • Design and integrate low-level drivers, abstraction layers, applications, and various software components for embedded systems.
  • Ensure the software produced by the team meets high standards of robustness, security, and quality.
  • Assist in hardware/software debugging and troubleshooting during board bring-up.
  • Create testing utilities to assess system performance effectively.
  • Ensure all project milestones are met promptly while adhering to Jabil's design quality standards.
  • Engage in technical discussions with clients, business units, and project teams.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members to enhance their software engineering capabilities.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in embedded software engineering.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in software configuration management tools, defect tracking systems, and peer review methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in software development using C/C++ and Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in developing embedded solutions, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, SoC platforms, and various communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with Linux BSP and application development is advantageous.
  • Experience in developing solutions for high-voltage battery systems is a significant plus.
