About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant/Technician to join our team at Friendship Hospital for Animals. As a Laboratory Assistant/Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our veterinary team by processing and preparing diagnostic samples, utilizing in-clinic equipment, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
* Process and prepare diagnostic samples for analysis
* Utilize in-clinic equipment, including blood gas and electrolyte analyzers, CBC machines, and digital cytology machines
* Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
* Explain medical conditions, treatment options, and recommended care to clients
* Assist primary care doctors with administrative tasks and client follow-up
* Maintain a clean hospital environment to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and clients
Requirements:
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners, and co-workers
* Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure
