Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled and seasoned Platform Services Engineer to take on the role of Site Lead within our team. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the oversight of the development, execution, and upkeep of our organization’s platform services. This role entails ensuring that platform services align with the strategic objectives of the program while effectively addressing the needs of our clients and end-users.

The Senior Platform Services Engineer will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the design, development, and deployment of the JPHs Platform Services systems. This expert should possess a proven track record in defining system solutions tailored to client requirements, budget considerations, and necessary integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Responsibilities include researching, identifying, selecting, and testing technology products essential for solution delivery. This SME must also be knowledgeable in establishing, implementing, and documenting technology integration or migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, execution, and maintenance of the organization’s platform services.
  • Ensure alignment of platform services with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure platform services meet client and end-user needs.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to platform services, including technical specifications, user guides, and training materials.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues associated with platform services.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within the platform services domain.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless integration of platform services into the overall technology stack.
  • Mentor and guide other members of the platform services team.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in platform engineering, specifically in developing and managing large-scale, enterprise-level platform services, with a minimum of 3 years in a SME role.
  • Minimum DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification required.
  • Experience in producing network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience in providing design and implementation support for VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies.
  • Expertise in design and implementation support for Storage Area Networks (SAN).
  • Proficient in managing all aspects of projects related to systems and technology.
  • Facilitate collaboration with primary system vendors.
  • Drive innovative technical solutions to meet functional requirements of system owners.
  • Complete technical documentation for design, testing, implementation, and training for transition solutions to operational support.
  • Produce documentation for configuration, repair, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network operating systems.
  • Implement systems based on network application requirements.
  • Conduct independent verification, validation, and project management for current and future projects.
  • Support DoD Information Assurance Risk Management Framework (DIARMF) as needed.
  • Senior knowledge of Microsoft infrastructures, including, but not limited to: Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Senior knowledge of TCP/IP network design.
  • Current, enterprise-class infrastructure/system engineering experience with Microsoft platforms on Client servers utilizing direct-attached and network-attached storage.
  • Advanced experience in designing, implementing, and managing high availability systems.
  • Experience with disaster recovery solutions and technologies for complex systems, including VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies (ESXi 6.0 or greater, Virtual Center, P2V Tools) design/management/implementation.

Salary Information:
Posted Min Pay Rate: USD $114,693.12/Yr.
Posted Max Pay Rate: USD $191,155.20/Yr.

Salary Disclosure:
Actual salary will be based on various factors including experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals demonstrating tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance, including education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond the requirements.
