We are seeking a highly skilled Family Services Specialist II to join our team at Children's Council of San Francisco. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting low-income families in and around San Francisco by evaluating and maintaining their eligibility for financial assistance to pay for childcare in various subsidy programs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records for families receiving subsidized childcare services.
- Counsel families on the importance and benefits of quality childcare and early education experiences for their children.
- Provide tailored information and referrals to community resources and support services as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other Department staff to ensure timely coordination of childcare authorizations and payments.
- Attend parent appeal hearings and support actions taken affecting families' service levels.
- Meet performance accuracy standards and maintain an organized workspace in accordance with Department policies.
- Some knowledge of San Francisco community resources and Child Development Programs.
- English/Spanish fluency to inform clients of procedures and programs.
- Familiarity with procedures and programs administered by California Department of Education.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and community-based organizations.
- Passionate about early childhood development, social justice, family empowerment, and diversity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
