Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for scheduling patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. You will also communicate pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, prepayment, and financial counseling to patients, families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree or currently be in the process of completing one. Experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment and using a multi-line phone system is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, prepayment, and financial counseling to patients, families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas
  • Interpret and coordinate physician orders
  • Prepare and maintain appointment templates and/or patient records

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in a patient care or healthcare administration setting scheduling appointments, expediting clinic flow, and providing direct customer service to patients

Working Hours:

The working hours for this position will vary depending on the Center assigned and its business needs. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the demands of our dynamic environment.
