ABOUT THE ROLE
We are in search of an enthusiastic and driven Product Merchandising Specialist to become a vital part of our team at SSI People.

This individual will collaborate closely with the Product Management division to facilitate the development and introduction of our sneaker offerings within tight market timelines.

This position is perfect for someone who possesses a genuine passion for sneakers, a sharp awareness of market dynamics, and a strong interest in fashion and consumer behavior.

The role will provide support and report directly to the Senior Product Manager, assisting in the management of our project timelines and schedules.

Effective communication and operational efficiency are crucial for success in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


This role will contribute to the seasonal briefing by co-authoring new creation and material/color/graphic briefs, in addition to aiding in the development of seasonal line plans.


  • Assess and analyze products with a clear understanding of price/value, consumer personas, and brand strategy.
  • Assist in managing the process and tracking our monthly product intake requests from various regions.
  • Support the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful execution.
  • Develop and maintain our visual line plans, ensuring all product information is precise and accounted for.
  • Oversee the submission of range planning for new product creation.
  • Educate the team on consumer analysis of current trends, illustrate consumer insights, and provide recommendations. We seek an individual who is consumer-focused and attuned to contemporary happenings.
  • Lead weekly product meetings with design and development teams to monitor progress on all projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including inline product merchandising, design, development, regional partners, and marketing to successfully launch new products.
  • Manage sample logistics.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Product Management team as required.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS


As the Product Merchandising Specialist, you will play a significant role in partnering across functions to lead the team in product creation from ideation to market launch, primarily supporting our Senior Product Managers.

You will collaborate with design, development, and regional teams to manage product creation, gather feedback, and make informed decisions.

Additionally, you will work closely with our global inline teams to cohesively bring a variety of products to life.

There will also be opportunities for key account engagement and focus on specific exclusive projects.

Your responsibility will include facilitating and nurturing relationships between these teams to ensure successful collaboration on all initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, along with 3-5+ years of experience in the footwear product industry.
  • Experience in footwear design/creation, development, and product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to cultivate business relationships across functions with key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt communication style based on the audience.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Team-oriented mindset and operational excellence to support team processes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple projects.
  • Passion for sneakers and a comprehensive understanding of the sneaker market and culture, with a proactive approach to identifying trends.
  • Proficient knowledge of the footwear product creation process and general understanding of footwear components and materials.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities.
  • Proven capability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
