Position: Chemical Engineering Specialist - Materials and Processes

Job Overview:

Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is in search of a dedicated Chemical Engineering Specialist with expertise in materials and processes, particularly in chemical processing, corrosion management, and aircraft finishing systems. This role is based at our facility in the USA.

We are looking for candidates across various experience levels, including associate, mid-level, and senior professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update material or process specifications.
  • Implement environmental protection protocols and standards.
  • Examine corrosion reports and suggest design modifications to mitigate corrosion effects.
  • Assist with non-conformance issues and fleet impact evaluations.
  • Evaluate and approve suppliers for chemical processing techniques.
  • Conduct failure analyses and lead initiatives for improvements in finishing systems.
  • Collaborate with government and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and endorse documentation and drawings related to finishing requirements.
  • Oversee production acceptance and qualification of materials.
  • Support the production and development of Boeing aircraft programs.
  • Contribute to the assessment of emerging technologies for potential integration.

Work Environment:

This position requires full-time onsite presence at the designated location.

Security Clearance:

The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Aerospace or Automotive Paint Application, Paints & Coatings, Inorganic Chemical Processes, Environmental Health and Safety, Sealants, or Analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with aerospace coatings and finishing systems.
  • Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering.
