Position: Registered Nurse

Schedule: Day Shift

Compensation: $45.00 per hour

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as MEDIKO policies and accepted nursing protocols.
  • Coordinate patient care services across various units and provide nursing care as needed.
  • Monitor off-site referrals and manage case services effectively.
  • Oversee daily patient care activities, ensuring implementation of physician orders and documentation of patient encounters.
  • Evaluate the physical, psychological, and social aspects of patients in healthcare and housing units.
  • Utilize knowledge of illnesses and injuries to gather health histories and conduct assessments.
  • Participate in patient intake screenings, evaluations, and care management.
  • Document patient assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge as required.
  • Administer medical treatments in accordance with licensing and regulatory standards.
  • Provide prescribed medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Summarize assessment data and communicate triage decisions to the healthcare team.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans following established protocols.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy, as per physician orders.
  • Deliver various medical services, including intake screenings and medical history assessments.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and prepare necessary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and document nursing encounters appropriately.
  • Supervise and guide the work of Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses to ensure efficient operations.
  • Implement and monitor dietary plans as ordered by healthcare providers.
  • Engage in patient education and health programs.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to uphold professional standards.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Contribute to cost containment efforts and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend required facility and corporate meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards for medications and supplies.
  • Promote workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities as requested.
  • Follow established timekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Oversee quality assurance and infection control compliance.
  • Engage in program development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all MEDIKO staff and correctional facility personnel.
  • Foster professional relationships with patients, visitors, and medical staff.
  • Promote teamwork and positive working relationships among staff.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other staff members as needed.
  • Encourage excellence in patient care and address any issues promptly.
  • Identify areas for improvement in patient care and make recommendations.
  • Assist in the delivery of in-service education as needed.
  • Engage in nursing activities that support the growth of the profession.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Unlicensed Assisted Personnel as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Active registered nursing license in the state.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in acute care, emergency, or correctional settings.
  • Proficient in operating standard office and medical equipment.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination required.
