Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cath Lab Technologist to join our team at St. Luke's Health-Memorial. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the efficient operation of our cath lab.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of room staff to ensure efficient utilization of resources and optimal patient care.
  • Perform duties of circulating, scrub, and monitoring of invasive cardiology procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of all procedures, equipment, and supplies.
  • Exhibit strong organization skills, including time management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution, to ensure a professional and patient-oriented departmental atmosphere.
  • Manage staff and room activities to maximize productivity, coordinating staffing assignments and making suggestions for staffing and procedural changes as needed.
  • Operate radiographic equipment, physiologic recorder/database system, and other support equipment, recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms.
  • Develop cines according to policy and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reporting issues to Biomed as necessary.
  • Anticipate physician needs, being knowledgeable of procedures and equipment necessary for procedures, and assist physicians during procedures using septic technique.
  • Provide support for EP, interventional, and scrub assist for AAA procedures or radiographic/digital imaging technique as needed.
  • Train and educate new employees in the cardiac catheterization lab, participating in departmental educational programs and providing educational opportunities for staff members.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) year clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist Radiography (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT).
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Documented expertise and successful completion of specialty training areas and skills checklist for at least two of the following: EP, interventional, scrub assist for AAA procedures or radiographic/digital imaging technique.
