Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echo Technologist II to join our team at St. Luke's Health-Memorial. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary department, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic testing and therapies, including echocardiograms, pulmonary function studies, EEG's, Cardiac Stress Testing, and Holter-Monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic testing and therapies to patients of all ages, including geriatric, adult, and adolescents.
  • Maintain patient safety through attention to detail, equipment safety checks, and adherence to department policies.
  • Provide patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test.
  • Assist patients with basic patient care needs and coordinate patient flow and activities of the Cardiopulmonary department.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance of equipment, accreditation, and Departmental Performance Improvement.
  • Practice as a member of the healthcare team in a manner that prioritizes patient, physician, peer, visitor, and other professional considerations.
  • Work in all patient care areas, including critical and non-critical locations.
  • Reflect the highest achievable quality as defined by departmental and professional standards.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of St. Luke's Health Memorial.
  • Participate in hospital/departmental quality projects that enhance skills and patient care outcomes.
  • Participate in hospital/departmental educational programs as required.
  • Accountable for certifications and records required to perform job.
  • Represent St. Luke's Health Memorial in a professional and accountable manner in physician, community relations, and vendor interactions.
  • Demonstrate willingness to follow the chain of command and regularly channel suggestions, criticisms, and questions to the appropriate person.
  • Support department-based goals and contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Requirements
  • High School/GED
  • BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)
  • Registered through either American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - ARDMS (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International – CCI (RCS)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program

  • Acquire adequate and accurate information for physician interpretation
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, and general staff as part of a team in a professional manner at all times
  • Interpersonal skills for communication with patients, visitors, physicians, and other team members
