Key Responsibilities

The Senior Cardiac Catheterization Specialist is responsible for overseeing the performance of the team in the catheterization lab, managing the schedule, and liaising with the management team to ensure optimal resource utilization. The role includes:

1. **Leadership and Coordination**: Supervise the performance of room staff, ensuring a professional and patient-focused environment. Manage staffing assignments to align with patient needs and staff capabilities.

2. **Operational Efficiency**: Collaborate with scheduling coordinators and other leaders to enhance departmental productivity. Proactively address potential delays and communicate schedule updates effectively.

3. **Technical Proficiency**: Operate radiographic equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Utilize physiologic recording systems with expertise in recognizing arrhythmias and waveforms.

4. **Equipment Management**: Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report any malfunctions promptly. Maintain a well-stocked supply of necessary medications and materials for procedures.

5. **Patient Care**: Anticipate physician requirements during procedures and assist with sterile setups. Provide support for various procedures and ensure the highest standards of patient care.

6. **Training and Development**: Mentor new staff members and contribute to educational programs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

- An Associate's Degree (preferred)

- A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting

- Registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)

- Current CPR/BLS certification

- Documented expertise in specialty training areas relevant to the role
