Job Title: Data Science Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Manager to join our team at Novartis Group Companies. As a Data Science Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives in Oncology Data Science. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of goals, expectations, and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed business product portfolios for clinical biomarker data generation, project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Manage and coordinate project resources, including project teams, vendors, contractors, and consultants, to ensure timely and quality delivery of data products and services.
  • Facilitate and lead regular project meetings, workshops, and reviews to ensure effective communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Serve as Oncology Data Science representative on the Novartis Biomedical Research Portfolio Governance Board to ensure alignment and coordination of data science activities and products across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key functions to ensure Oncology Data Science needs and use cases are well understood and supported.
  • Lead or co-lead the Foundational Hub Core within Oncology Data Science, responsible for providing data infrastructure and support for all Oncology Data Science projects and products.
  • Develop and implement a Data Strategy for Oncology Data Science, aligned and connected to the broader Data Science community of Novartis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, agile development, or architecture design, with a proven track record of delivering data products and solutions that meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Familiarity with operations and data deliverables in a CRO setting.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across different geographies and cultures.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and delivering data products, data strategies, data governance frameworks, and data quality standards, relevant to clinical applications.
