The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Technology to lead our Data Science team. This role encompasses the entire ML Ops lifecycle, from data and modeling to software development and production DevOps. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and inspiring the team to build and deploy machine learning models, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and inspire the team to build and deploy machine learning models, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to determine priorities, manage resource allocation, timelines, and tradeoffs, and identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and operationalize metrics that assess model quality. Collaborate with Product to link these to user experience.
- Shepherd continuous investment in infrastructure and tooling, including ground truth and data acquisition pipelines.
- Drive cost, scalability, and reliability optimization of production modeling pipelines.
- Stay current with emerging trends and champion best practices in process and technology.
- Exemplify and cultivate our collaborative and inclusive work culture, including through recruitment and onboarding of great candidates.
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a director role
- 15+ years experience, including time at growth-stage startups
- Hands-on experience as a data scientist
- Authorized to work in the US
