Job Summary

This Primary Therapist role at Alsana involves providing consultation, case management, and therapy services to individuals struggling with complex eating disorders. As a key member of our team, you will assess clients, determine referral needs, and develop effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, interpret results, and provide feedback to clients on relevant measures (e.g., psychosocial assessment, suicide risk assessment, core assessment packet).
  • Deliver individual therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based interventions adapted to each client's needs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation within established timeframes, including progress notes, weekly therapy assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Foster collaboration with outpatient teams to ensure continuity of care and update them on client progress.
  • Participate in regular training and supervision sessions as assigned.
  • Support direct care staff in managing milieu conflicts, observing clients, and providing crisis stabilization when needed.
  • Engage with clients during meals and snacks as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree in social work, clinical counseling, or a related health discipline (AMFT, ACSW, LPC, PhD).
  • At least two years of experience working with eating-disordered clients or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant professional associations.
  • The ability to educate and consult with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, professional practice guidelines, and relevant Acts (e.g., Mental Health Act, Freedom of Information Act).
