Behavioral Health Specialist

At STAR Community Justice Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the identified behavioral health needs of our residents are met.
Responsibilities:- Adhere to STAR's policies and procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our residents.
- Conduct initial consultations and screenings in a criminal justice setting to identify behavioral health needs.
- Develop individualized plans of care for each assigned client receiving behavioral health services.
- Provide evidence-based treatment interventions to promote positive behavioral change.
- Conduct individual and group sessions to support residents in achieving their goals.
- Assess and address imminent risk to self or others, in consultation with the Clinical Director.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, probation officers, and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in staff development and attend meetings and in-service trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Complete documentation of services provided within 24 hours to ensure accurate records.
- Practice ethical standards in accordance with Ohio licensing board and Ohio Revised Codes for scope of practice.
- Attend house meetings to relay pertinent information regarding resident progress and concerns.
- Suggest ways to improve programming for residents.
- Associate's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Social Science from an accredited institution. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- LSW, LPC, LCDC, CDCA credentials or eligibility to obtain.
- Valid Driver's License.
