Job Description

SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager at Glomo will spearhead the identification and cultivation of new business opportunities, driving the growth of our logistics and relocation services. This role involves comprehensive management of the proposal lifecycle, collaborating closely with various business unit leaders to ensure alignment and effectiveness in our approach to securing new contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the entire proposal response process, from the initial identification of opportunities to the final submission of proposals.
  • Continuously research and monitor industry trends and electronic procurement platforms to uncover potential business development leads.
  • Assemble and lead proposal teams, coordinating efforts across departments to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Evaluate the contributions of team members to ensure proposals are relevant and comprehensive.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting necessary service providers and contractors for successful bid submissions.
  • Participate in team presentations to clients, effectively communicating complex solutions to decision-makers.
  • Document and track new business opportunities within the company's CRM system, analyzing outcomes to inform future strategies.
  • Generate periodic reports on client interactions and activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a centralized proposal library, including past submissions and related documents.
  • Collaborate on the creation of compelling business development materials that align with our brand standards.
  • Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify new avenues for growth, utilizing statistical methods to inform decision-making.
  • Support management initiatives and respond to additional requests as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Experience in developing marketing communications and proposals.
  • Strong project management and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to perform market analyses using data analytics tools.
  • Experience in international or cross-cultural business environments is advantageous.
  • Proven business development experience, including proposal presentations and negotiations.
  • Dynamic personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Willingness to collaborate with various stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of four to six years of experience in business development, account management, or related fields, particularly in logistics or relocation services. Experience in proposal writing and knowledge of procurement processes is highly desirable.
