About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director of Operations to join our team at HMSHost. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in driving branch-wide profitability and operations excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Sr Director Operations in directing the daily operations of the location, ensuring all company/brand standards and safety guidelines are met.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the annual budget, working with branch-level management to ensure budgeted sales and profit goals are achieved.
  • Effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and assign business activities, ensuring all managers know and follow opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
  • Interview job candidates, make hiring, termination, advancement, promotion, or any other status change decisions for associates within the branch, promoting HMSHost as an employer of choice within the local community.
  • Actively ensure managers adhere to mandated rest breaks and meal periods, ensuring compliance with wellness and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Read and understand financial and operational data and reports to monitor progress towards the branch, zone, and restaurant goals, assigning associates to meet those objectives.
  • Ensure company and branch diversity and inclusion philosophy is understood and actively executed within the restaurant.
  • Use good judgment and broad discretion to resolve customer and associate questions and problems, ensuring compliance with all company adult beverage policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to work shifts during various operating days and hours each week, during opening, during busy day parts, and during closing to monitor restaurant associates' and managers' work activities during these different days and times.
  • Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards, and all procedures and protocols to comply with HACCP standards.
