Advanced Cardiac Critical Care Provider

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced APP to work in a state-of-the-art 24/7 unit with a high volume of critically ill cardiac patients.
About the Role
In this position, you will play a critical role in the comprehensive care and management of cardiac patients within our CVICU. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will conduct thorough physical assessments, formulate accurate diagnoses, and provide individualized treatment plans. You will also collaborate with multiple healthcare teams, including cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough physical assessments and obtaining detailed medical histories to evaluate patients' cardiac conditions and overall health status.
- Formulating accurate diagnoses, performing appropriate procedures, creating individualized treatment plans, and prescribing medications or treatments to manage cardiac conditions.
- Providing and coordinating clinical care for CVICU patients through established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintaining accurate and timely medical records, documenting patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) certification with fellowship in critical care and/or specialization in cardiology or cardiac surgery.
- Strong clinical skills, including the ability to perform critical care procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Dedication to high-quality patient care, safety, and continuous improvement.
Benefits
