About the Culinary Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Support Specialist to join our team at the Holy Cross Retreat House in North Easton, MA. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission of service and hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head chef in meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, following recipes, and ensuring everything is ready for service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Cook independently for day retreats, preparing meals that adhere to specific dietary guidelines.
  • Support the upkeep of our retreat house garden, harvesting fresh produce and performing other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive atmosphere for the retreat house.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Basic familiarity with standard office equipment.
