Job Summary

Dakota Dunes Country Club is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food in accordance with company recipes and health code standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Prepare food for service, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Handle, store, and rotate all products properly, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  3. Assist with the development and creation of new menu items, working closely with our culinary team to ensure that our offerings are innovative and appealing.
  4. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to health code regulations and ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
  5. Wash dishes, silverware, drinkware, and kitchen cookware, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
  6. Maintain kitchen stock at line stations, ensuring that our team has the necessary ingredients and supplies to provide exceptional service.
  7. Check in stock orders delivered by vendors, assisting with inventory ordering and management.
  8. Closely follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations, ensuring that all tasks are completed and the kitchen is properly closed.
  9. Adhere to club dress code policy, presenting a professional image at all times.
  10. Attend and participate in all employee meetings, staying informed about company news and initiatives.
  11. Demonstrate a commitment to the work and success of the club and the company, providing exceptional service and support to our members and guests.
  12. Perform additional assignments as directed by club or company managers, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs.
  13. Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.

Requirements:

  1. Must have the ability to deliver a high level of customer service, providing exceptional support and assistance to our members and guests.
  2. Good oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
  3. Basic culinary skills and knowledge, with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes and menu items.
  4. Understanding of safe food handling procedures and processes, with the ability to maintain a safe and secure environment and operation.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred, with previous experience in food preparation and cooking a plus.
  2. Certified Food Handler (reserving or local certification) is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 0-24%
  • Standing and walking 75-100%
  • Climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling 0-24%
  • Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, writing, and commercial kitchen equipment 50-100%
  • Lift in excess of 25 pounds 0-24%
