Position Overview:

The role of Risk Investigation Representative 1 is essential in safeguarding the integrity and security of banking operations. This position involves examining suspicious activities, assessing risks, and proposing suitable measures to mitigate potential threats to the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into cases involving amounts under $5,000, focusing on potential fraud, money laundering, and compliance violations.
  • Ensure cases that may require further review and filing are escalated to appropriate investigators.
  • Monitor transactions and account activities to detect potential risks and suspicious behaviors, thoroughly reviewing alerts generated by internal monitoring systems.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports that document findings, analyses, and recommendations, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Compliance, Legal, and Operations, to share findings and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and changes impacting the banking sector, ensuring investigations adhere to all relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Act as a liaison between the bank and other financial institutions, as well as law enforcement agencies, to assist in investigations and prevent or recover potential losses.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant job experience.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel at an intermediate level.

Certifications: CFCI certification preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment:

No specific physical requirements beyond traditional office work.
