Job Overview

Compensation: $16.00 to $17.50 per hour

Important Note: Applicants must possess a valid Lifeguard License.

Key Responsibilities of an Aquatic Safety Specialist:
  • Hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, either prior to or shortly after joining SafeSplash.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals in and around the pool area, maintaining vigilant supervision of all aquatic activities.
  • Regularly assess, identify, and mitigate any potential hazards.
  • Provide first aid for injuries; rescue swimmers in distress; perform CPR and/or artificial respiration as necessary.
  • Support the deck manager as required and communicate any issues needing attention.
  • Lead and assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment before and after classes.
Additional Responsibilities:

Carry out other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a lifeguard is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with children in a teaching capacity.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish is a significant advantage.
  • Must be adaptable, creative, and willing to follow instructions.
  • Background in swimming; ability to demonstrate various swim strokes.
  • Availability for flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Comfortable interacting with both teens and adults.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Work hours: 20 to 36+ hours per week.
Availability: Candidates should be prepared to work consistently on the following days:
  • Saturdays (9:00 AM to 2:30 PM) AND
  • Monday to Friday (3:00 PM to 8:30 PM)
  • Tuesdays (9:00 AM to 1:30 PM)
Interview Process:
  • Initial phone screening.
  • In-person interview.
  • In-water assessment including a brief swim test.
