Software System Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Software System Safety Specialist at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of software systems used in various industries. Your primary responsibility will be to translate real-world needs into technical specifications to deliver a customer-focused engineering solution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate real-world needs into technical specifications to deliver a customer-focused engineering solution.
- Provide technical support to senior-level DoD and service representatives on software system safety implementation and oversight for DoD weapon system acquisition programs.
- Work in a dynamic team environment of client and contract staff to leverage software experience in accomplishing software system safety tasks, typically as part of a larger system safety effort.
- Execute comprehensive software system safety programs or individual tasks, such as analysis of requirements, architecture, design, and code, and conduct in-depth safety-specific testing.
- Assist with review of client software system safety documents to verify compliance with requirements, policy, and guidance documents and document adequacy.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with software development.
- Experience with software system safety implementation.
- Experience developing and debugging multi-threaded or real-time embedded software.
- Experience with operating systems and compiler technology.
- Knowledge of FPGAs, PLDs, and firmware development.
- Ability to use software development environments and tools, including Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, or Rational Software.
- Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science, or Software Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineer.
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154, annualized USD. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
