Job Summary:

The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking a skilled Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere in the pool area, ensuring the well-being of our members and guests. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and objective in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend all scheduled shifts on time and maintain active surveillance of the pool area
Know and review the AMA YMCA Aquatics Safety Plan and emergency procedures, responding to situations immediately
Respond to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner and maintain accurate records as required
Perform equipment checks, ensure appropriate equipment is available, and check the pool for hazardous conditions
Apply all YMCA policies and procedures and exemplify the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith

Requirements:

Minimum age of 16
Professional rescuer CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid certifications
Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent certification
Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
Capacity to work cooperatively in a team environment and relate effectively to diverse groups of people
