Surgical Registered Nurse

Corewell Health is pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for this position. The surgical unit comprises a total of 64 operating rooms within the main facility.
The specialty services available in Teams I and II include: General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Cardiovascular/Heart Surgery.
During orientation, scrub training will be provided for RNs to assist in surgical procedures as deemed appropriate by unit leadership.

Scope of Work
The Registered Nurse (RN), operating under the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care. This includes integrating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and facilitate discharge.
The RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures. They acknowledge the significance of nursing care and the partnership with patients and families in influencing patient outcomes.
The RN collaborates with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the care plan, developing educational strategies for patients and families, and documenting this education appropriately in the health record.

Qualifications
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within five years
• Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire from an accredited organization.
• Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years
• Two years of RN experience preferred; OR RN experience required.
