We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms in a variety of electromechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop algorithms in Matlab/Simulink in conjunction with the Autopilot team
- Interact with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities
- Perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or related science degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date
- Strong understanding of classical and modern control theory
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink and ability to work with electrical and mechanical hardware
- Deriving system of equations for mechanical and electrical systems
- Classical Control Theory: PID, Nyquist, Bode, Root Locus
- Modern Control Theory: Full-State Feedback, State Estimation
- Digital Control
- Familiarity with electric motors (primarily BLDC type)
- Software Skills: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, dSpace Control Desk
- Competitive salary range: $77,000 - $163,000

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
