Orthodontic Patient Coordinator Job Description

At Benevis, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthodontic Patient Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our dental office, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth experience for our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide top-notch customer service to patients and parents at check-in and check-out, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and service limits to ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
  • Greet patients and parents, checking them in for daily appointments and keeping them informed of their child's progress.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy waiting area and front desk, creating a positive first impression for our patients.
  • Coordinate with our Orthodontic Financial Coordinator and Doctors to provide same-day care to patients, ensuring seamless communication and efficient scheduling.
  • Assist with meeting our Orthodontic financial targets by ensuring schedules are full and patients are compliant with appointments.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with routing referrals to the appropriate doctor.
  • Ensure pre-authorization processes are completed for approvals and collect payments, posting them accordingly in our practice management system.
  • Confirm appointments for upcoming days and answer incoming patient calls, directing them to the appropriate team member for assistance.
  • Ensure Orthodontic patients are compliant with appointments and send necessary communication leading up to or including termination.
  • Participate in local community affairs and events, promoting a positive image of Benevis and our mission to create happy, healthy smiles.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, retail, restaurant, or hospitality.
  • Willingness to travel in the assigned territory.
  • High focus on customer service and satisfaction, with a passion for working with children.
  • Compassion and a high level of service for our patients, parents, and staff.
  • Integrity, always doing the right thing.
  • Dependability and reliability, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Professional manner and appearance at all times.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
  • Telephone skills: proper telephone etiquette and information gathering skills.
