Job SummaryThe Cytologist will be responsible for preparing and screening all cytologic specimens, assisting on fine needle procedures, and interpreting findings under the direction of a pathologist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and screen all cytologic specimens
- Assist on fine needle procedures
- Interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist
- Follow laboratory policies and procedures
- Ensure test results meet quality control program requirements
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in cytology or a related field
- Cytologist - Board Registered or specialist in Cytology by recognized credentialing board
- Eligible to become Registered
- LC - Licensed Cytologist
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with hospital personnel and outside contacts
